01Who we are and what this covers

This Cookie Policy explains how LeoTrace Ltd (“LeoTrace”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the website at leotrace.io and any subdomain of it (the “Site”). LeoTrace Ltd is incorporated in England and Wales under company number 16743564, with its registered office at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally, and our Terms of Use, which govern your use of the Site.

This policy covers the Site only. It does not cover our products, LeoPrevent, LeoBench and LeoReveal, which run inside a customer’s own environment and do not set cookies on the Site.

02What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, including local storage, pixels and tags, do comparable things. We refer to all of them as cookies in this policy.

Cookies can be set by us (first party) or by a third party whose service we use on the Site (third party). Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them.

03How we use cookies, and your choices

We group the cookies we use into two categories.

Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to work and to record your cookie choice. These are set without consent, because the Site cannot function without them, and they cannot be switched off through our banner.

Analytics. Used to understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve it. Google Analytics is the only analytics tool we use on the Site, and its cookies are set only if you accept them in our cookie banner.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by reopening the banner from the link in the Site footer, or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings. Declining or deleting analytics cookies does not affect how the Site works.

We do not use cookies for advertising, cross site tracking or profiling, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.

Forms on the Site, including the demo request and sign up list, are handled for us by Web3Forms. It does not set cookies. What happens to the information you submit through a form is described in our Privacy Policy.

04The cookies we use

• Cookie consent preference. Strictly necessary, set by LeoTrace. Records your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every visit. Expires after 12 months.
• _ga. Analytics, set by Google Analytics. Distinguishes visitors. Expires after 2 years.
• _ga_[id]. Analytics, set by Google Analytics. Keeps session state for a property. Expires after 2 years.
• __Secure-ENID. Analytics, set by Google on google.com when Analytics loads. Google security and preferences cookie. Expires after about 13 months.

Cookie names and durations are set by the providers and can change. If we add a cookie or a provider, we will update this list and the date at the top of this policy.

05Analytics and data retention

We use Google Analytics, which acts as our processor. It tells us things like which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive at the Site, and approximate location derived from IP address. We do not use it to identify you.

The cookie lifetimes in section 4 are the maximum life of the file on your device. The analytics data itself is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months, which is the longest period the platform allows, after which Google deletes it.

Data collected through Google Analytics may be transferred outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens we rely on an approved transfer mechanism, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every site you visit by installing Google’s browser add on.

06Third party links

Pages we link to are operated by other organisations and set their own cookies. We do not control them. Their own cookie and privacy policies apply.

07Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the date at the top.
